by Fognomore injust imagine what this world would be like if the jw faith had the whole world as believers?
i just had a conversation with my dad where i said " fine , i will grant you that you your desire to have every person on the earth become a jw as that is the borgs goal by teaching correct.?
i followed up with " if that would of happened in 1914 or earlier, what would become of our world?

Did you actually read the bible end to end?
by Ultimate Axiom inin my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.
i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.
well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

I didn't. But when my brother in law experienced how the society the protects
pedophilesthemselves, I started with the book of Daniel & Revelation and compared them to the societies publications - namely the Revelation the grand climax, daniels prophecies. That is when I realized that the Society knew what they were teaching, wasn't bible based. They weren't "chosen" etc. After that, the gradual realization that both were fictional works of a business.
Now I see that the Society, is just another wannabee messiah.

I think that is more effective than telling someone. Let their own minds draw conclusions.
Unfortunately, when the realization hits them, most JW's in that brief second or two will quickly "forget" that they even had that thought. You can see it when their eyes shift.
But I think that small intrusions into their JW dreams, could have an effect in the long run. Could...

Newtonian - Most Jehovah's Witnesses believe that - until they question something that the Governing Body has published.
If you were baptized before 1985, your baptismal question would not be this:
1) On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
2) Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization?
Originally there was no mention of an organization in the vows. Jehovah, Jesus and the Holy spirit was it. But now, you are pledging your obedience to the organization. The Governing Body requires you to Listen Obey and Be Blessed. Otherwise they will say you are going against GOD.
Perhaps you are equating everything that the organization is saying, as being from GOD and therefore proper to obey. Yet recently, they have admitted they are imperfect humans who make mistakes. Still, if you don't do as they say, you will be in trouble.
I have a good example of that. An elder at my old hall, gave a talk about how some parents have allowed their children to go to college. He said with an angry voice, that the organization has printed pages and pages of information about the dangers of college. And yet he says, they point out one paragraph that says it up to an individuals conscience. He likened them to Korah
Yes going against the "advice" of the Governing Body is traitorous.

P 18 is one of the sneakiest tricks that the WT uses. It combines two different things "Me First" and "Families First", so that the positive is linked to the negative.
I still remember that talk linking the faithful sheep that had sold houses and left businesses - to Harold camping. The link being that the regular JW had looked forward to a "certain" day and Harold Camping had preached a certain day for Armageddon to come. Since it worked out well for the WT (everyone chuckled at the assembly) they went on to do a video, holding up those that had followed their lead, to ridicule and a label of being "spiritually weak"

I always get curious when someone posts an article from the WT. So I end up going there to look around at the whole article and find other things that are curiouser and couriouser.
Certainly, God’s thinking is superior to that of today’s world. Living by his thoughts will bring us the greatest happiness and success. But Jehovah will not force his thinking on us. “The faithful and discreet slave” does not exercise control over the thoughts of individuals, and neither do the elders. (Matt. 24:45; 2 Cor. 1:24) Rather, each Christian has the personal responsibility to bring his or her thinking into harmony with God’s. How can we do that?
This was in paragraph 13 in the article "Who molds your thinking? I thought it was a sly way to connect the FDS with God. Of course, the FDS does control the thinking of every JW or at least they try. And since the Elders are their enforcers, they do it too.
Paragraph 16 stirs up the US vs Them feelings and classifies non JW's as UNGODLY.
The preaching work itself will bring us in contact with erroneous beliefs. However, where contact with ungodly views is unavoidable, we certainly need not entertain them or accept them. Like Jesus, we should be quick to reject thoughts that serve Satan’s purpose.
Erroneous beliefs = ungodly = those that believe in the bible but aren't JW's. How funny would it be if a JW went to a door and after having a discussion, told the householder they had ungodly views.
p. 18 has the subtle put down of "families first"
We also do well to recognize and reject worldly thinking when it is presented in less obvious ways. For example, a news report might be angled in such a way so as to favor certain political opinions. A human interest story might advance the world’s view of human goals and achievements. Some movies and books promote the “me first” and “family first” philosophies, making them seem reasonable, appealing, even right. Such viewpoints overlook the Scriptural view that our families and self-worth thrive when we love Jehovah above all
The WT ties in the selfish behavior of "me first" with families being close. Then it makes sure that Loving God is more important than the loving the family first. Helps with the shunning you know.
On one of the pages I ended up on, I saw on the bottom right, a group of button links.
The first one was divided off from the rest of the links, with a line top and bottom.

They finally found a use for children I see. Imagine the benefits of having Cart Children. Instead of having to pack up and leave when apostates show up, the Cart Children will now simply run with you! Adults will also not have to drag around the heavy carts - the Cart Child will do all the work. They even will have a new category of field service time. Cart Wheeling. -

At what point would you lose your consciousness and reality?? (really being explored on TV shows now)
by Bad_Wolf inmany recent shows and movies are showing and exploring people having their consciousness absorbed into digital form or transplanted to younger clone bodies to extend life.
parts of our brain can be cut or damaged, but we are still us.
our bodies can be replaced with artificial limbs but we are still us.

Wasn't Dr. McCoy always concerned with the transporter on Star Trek? Same question. If he is disassembled and put back together, is it really him?

Interesting days text today
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara insunday, december 30. asa’s heart was complete with jehovah all his life.—1 ki.
15:14.. each of us can examine his heart to see if it is fully devoted to god.
ask yourself, ‘am i determined to please jehovah, to defend true worship, and to protect his people from any corrupting influence?’ for example, what if someone close to you has to be disfellowshipped?

It just make me think of all the years as a school child I was supposed to "take a stand" and explain my beliefs and suffered - yet there is Geoffrey Jackson weaseling out of it on the stand when he was questioned by the Austrailian Royal Commission.
Hypocrites.
